| Where on earth is Liguria? |
Liguria is a beautiful, charismatic northern province of Italy, bordering France and sandwiched between the foothills of the alps and the Mediterranean coast. It boasts several historic and famous Riviera towns, such as San Remo and Genoa, and is largely undiscovered, despite excellent accessibility. Why not read our series of articles about Liguria? Liguria enjoys consistently good weather, being next to the mediterranean and also sheltered by the mountains. It can get very hot in the summer and will very seldom be cold enough for snow in the winter. Be careful not to buy property too far inland (no more than 15-20km), because for every 100m of altitude, the temperature decreases by 1 degree C.

| Depending on which end of the riviera you're coming from, the nearest international airport is either in Genoa, Italy, or in Nice, France. One or the other is within easy reach at all times. |
Rusticos are old - sometimes very old - traditional buildings. They can be old olive mills, farm buildings, or simply old houses. Because of their age, most need some sort of restoration work. If it's a question of a lick of paint and replacing a few windows, you can still move in and live there - it's "liveable". But if the rustico needs plumbing, electricity, a new roof and a new floor, this will involve severe restoration. The cost of such work should be taken into consideration when purchasing your property: we suggest calculating 1,200 to 1,500 Euros per square meter.

| Can you help with restoration and bulding? |
Yes! In fact, we specialize in the restoration of old properties, using good quality materials and staying faithful to traditional building methods and styles. Depending on the size of the property, restoration can take anywhere from three to eight months.
We can also build new houses from scratch. These take longer as permission for the building project needs to be obtained (which can take anywhere up to six months) before work can commence. Such work is calculated at around 2,000 Euros per square meter.
